Oasis is an expression of relief from anxiety, much of my work is influenced by my personal experiences of anxiety. The palette and design of Oasis is inspired by the waves and colors in Hawaii. I was born in Hilo on the Big Island and my memories from the sunsets I saw on my last visit were calming and tranquil. In this piece, I wanted to express those feelings and experiences. The textures in the wave were created by layering acrylic paints with hard brushes. This artwork gives a relaxing mood to any space.

Oasis is 16"H x 20"W x .625" D. Acrylic paints and mediums were applied to the canvas with hard brushes and sponges. The artwork was finished with a gloss varnish. This landscape was finished in March 2021.
