The abstract painting titled "In Remission" is inspired by The Menzingers’ song. Throughout the creation of this artwork, I aimed to encapsulate the emotions of anxiety, energy, and the human experience conveyed through the song’s lyrics and music.
The colors chosen reflect a spectrum of emotions—from renewal and rage to anxiety and inspiration.
A decade ago, I had the pleasure of meeting The Menzingers while working at the Weekender, an arts and entertainment paper in NEPA. Since then, I've photographed the band, capturing moments like their performance at Union Transfer in Philadelphia, PA during their Rented World Tour. The energy in the atmosphere in the building as they played “In Remission,” left a lasting impression on me. Both this song and the painting inspired by it hold a deeply personal significance in my heart.
